Sadly, today few consumers care about any of this. Their primary concern is the amount of the monthly payment. A small portion of them even ask for the length of the terms. This is from a close friend that is a car salesman.

I have a deal for them :D

I preach over and over again to my kids the importance of knowing actual cost of things, that a monthly payment alone don't mean nuttin.
And there is no such thing as 0% interest, just look at the price increases in tractors over the last couple of years alone.

I understand your sentiments, but actually, there is such a thing as 0% interest. That is just about what your bank is paying on your passbook right now. That is also just about the current Fed Rate. Seriously, it is .0025 or something akin.

So, if you are a tractor builder/seller, that's about what you'd charge to keep your factories running and your people working and protect your market share.

Hey..... I got 0% for 72 months on orange tractors snow-wee.gif

I'll take the 0% for 72 if the price of the tractor isn't inflated. I rather keep my money in funds/accounts that make a lil bit of money.

Come on guys it's a big sand box out here!!!
Beside ya never know what I may sell in the future!!!!:D
Some times I feel like a Kubota dealer...we run a lot of Kubota's through our shop for routine services and we also mount a lot of Woods backhoes on them.
That's one thing you'll find with me...so long as we can make customers happy we are color blind;)

I see they are at least offering 0% for 42 now in the US. Last I checked they're only offering 0% for 24 up here in Canada.

Just so everyone knows Kubota only changes their rates every quarter not every month.

THE RESON FOR THE PRICE DIFF. IS DUE TO THE DEALER HAS A % HE MUST PAY TO GET U THE 60 MONTHS @ 0%

The O% for 60 months has a fee attached of $435.
After I balked at the fee the dealer lowered the price by $450.

I've got a BX1860 with FEL, 54" deck and front mount snow blower being delivered on Monday. Unfortunately, there are no snow blower available in the area, so that will be delivered later.

As I said before, he did a "buy down" which means he paid the $435 interest himself plus gave you another $15 back. In your case since you had already accepted/agreed on a purchase price, you got a true 0% for 60 months.

I can't get past my cynical belief that there's no such thing as "0%." I just took advantage of the 60-month program and paid a couple of hundred to get it. I'm not begrudging Kubota for that... what I'm not pleased about is the $925 I had to pay for Kubota insurance because I'm using their financing program. I know there's been a lot of discussion about this in the past and where to find savings, but I've fallen for the "comfort" that comes with paying for insurance (through the nose). After all, I only financed $11k, so a $925 insurance bill seems like a big nut to me.

It is my understanding that Kubota requires you to have insurance to protect their investment until it is paid for, but you are not required to get the coverage from Kubota. If in your opinion their premium is over priced, why didn't you buy your insurance elsewhere?
I agree with this. My insurance for my Kubota costs me nothing. Actually nothing. I have Homeowners and I have Homeowners with or without a tractor. My agent assures me and assures Kubota with written documentation that the tractors are covered. My Premium doesn't change with or without tractors. Ky Farm Bureau. I think most states have a Farm Bureau Insurance Company. No, it doesn't provide the same coverage as the Kubota policy. It covers the Kubota on my property and my agent said it covers it transporting it for service. It does not pay for repairs if it tears up which some say the Kubota policy does after the deductibles are met.
