I built the P. Lift.

If you are going to build one, I will try to throw more ideas your way. Mine is multi-level, for when the fel won't reach high enough. Removeable banister rail around top, Can open up any one side, or remove the complete banister if necessary. Has ladder built on side, for one man operation. Just throw a short ladder on the lower platform to transport to work area. Set ladder off, raise platform to work area, lean ladder up to bottom of platform ladder & up you go.
I think I have about 9' between platforms.

Would really like to see more pictures of this unit both on the tractor and in the high lift. Interesting concept.

Hi Jim,

It looks like you are using something other than a product from trusjoist MacMillan. Trusjoist open web series trusses have wood top and bottom chords with steel pipe webs.

I am more inclined to think that you have some sort of steel k series bar joist. Depending on which 16" k series bar joist spanning 28' you have, the total load capacity ranges from 186 plf (18.6 psf) to 408 plf (40.8 psf). The joist in your picture looked pretty beefy. Is there a tag on one of the ends of the joist? This would give me lots of design information.

Jim, thanks for the link. I bookmarked it so I can go back and drool! I'm going to do some research to see if I can come up with a way to make or get one made. As others have said in the previous thread, very nice work.

Those are good ideas, thanks for the picture. It always seems like whatever you're trying to get to is just out of reach. The removeable banister and extra height would be a must. Just not sure how much need to be able to use it inside.

Now I have to get busy, projects always take me twice as long as I think they should!

Bottom frame is out of 6 & 8" Jr I beam. Corner uprights are 1" galv pipe.
