Problems with BX model tractors

I am looking to buy a new or used BX model compact tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I have been reading your post for some time and everyone has lots of good things to say about their BX tractors. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif What I would like to read is if anyone is having any problems with their BX tractor or things that you would change on it. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

It's a good tractor as you can see from posts, however there's been issues discussed here with lots of threads.
1. Anti Scalp Rollers/wheels
2. No tach
3. Leaking gas tanks

These seem posts I've seen on complaints.

welcome to the forum /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif u don't say what u want to do with the bx, also as with any tractor model i am sure folks would like to see some changes, some of the older bx had a problem with leaking gas tanks(that may have been rectifed on new models) but over all have read nothing but fine reports on the bx.

forgot to mention that the ground clearance of the bx is not great, so if this might cause a problem for u, u might want to take that into consideration

The problems I have had are all related to first year production:
1. Sticking hydro pedal; grease fitting installed on warranty.
2. Leaking secondary fuel tank; replaced under recall.
3. New top link to change 3 pt hitch geometry; per service bulletin.
4. Fuel gauge sender unit replaced after three years, I paid for that.
Newer models tend to be relatively problem free, although there is a current thread about sticky hydro pedals.

I have a BX22, but I've only got 40+ hrs on it. So far, none of the issues referenced above have beset my tractor. Its a great little machine, but it has its limits, albeit, those limits are beyond what I expect of it. I would say its the perfect combination of power, versatility, economy and size for my needs. Just didn't want to go any bigger for cost and storage reasons. I can highly recommend it.
