Problems with Avast, Windows 10, and Chrome

Arggh! Whenever I try to get into a thread I'm blocked by Avast antivirus. I'm using Google Chrome, and just upgraded to Windows 10 when it started. Thanks, Microsoft! I'm guessing it blocks any thread with links in it? Just a guess. If you can offer solutions, please keep it simple ; I can recognize a computer 2 out of 3 times with a little prompting. :confused3:

I suspect we're all having a few issues.
I've noted now that the Paypal buttons on Ebay have stopped working with Windows 10................. Now if I find something to buy I have to go and fire up a laptop that has the 8.1 version to make the purchase.

When Avast blocks me for a technical reason & I'm pretty sure it is safe I just shut it down for a period.

Google Chrome drove me nuts to the point I switched to Foxfire.

I used Windows from v3.1 to Vista so I am used to dealing with the follow-on incompatibilities. In 2009 I bought an Apple MacBook Pro and recently bought a new one. The Apple OS, which is updated every year or two, seems immune to the incompatibilities that always surface in a Windows upgrade. Having simplified my own life, I used to spend a lot of time helping my wife on her Windows machines. But last Christmas she bought herself an Apple computer, so now I don't have to help her at all. Shifting to Apple has removed a fair amount of aggravation for me.

I for one understand reducing aggravation by switching to Apple products ............ but then I spot a sale and I can buy a $800 windows machine for half price & figure....... maybe next time.
