Problem with quick connectors on MF 1250

After using the tractor and loader recently, I backed the tractor into the garage and lost up and down on the loader. Bucket curled fine. Checked fluid - OK. Then checked connectors and one for the up/down was loose in the fitting. In trying to get it back in, I removed one of the bucket controls as that hose was in the way. Now I have 2 connectors that just don't seem to connect back up.

I read other posts about releasing pressure and have done that. I just can't get the last two connectors to pop in. They seem to connect, and I hear/feel a pressure change, but then they just don't hold. Cleaned and felt around and the ring inside the female end feels fine, as well as the retaining ring of "spheres".

Should these be that stubborn?

Engine should not be running.

With engine off wiggle the loader levers to release any residual pressure.

Push the male attachment QD ball/poppet against a hard surface, and connect the attachment. It should snap in, if you are pulling the sleeve back.

I had tried all of what you said. Today I mentioned my problem to a co-worker and he said I have to jack up the bucket to relieve pressure. That worked.

I was remiss in stating that the loader was up when I submitted my query. Clearly, I am an idiot in not doing so.

Now I understand.

If the loader is up and a QD disconnects, you might have a couple of hundred lbs of pressure on one side of the cyl.

You relieved the pressure by jacking the bucket up. usually, it is the heat that expands the fluid making coupling difficult.

What ever it takes to get the pressure to zero on both sides of the QD.

There are QD's that will connect under pressure.
