I tried twice to log on with my password with no success so I resorted to requesting a temporary password assuming I could just reset mine once I was online. Upon attempting to do so I encountered a problem.

I'm now told that 'We cannot proceed' and the reason given is "Bio too long" even thought I didn't touch the bio. Any suggestions other than cutting the bio I have and like? Thanks. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Well... you're obviously logged in now, to post. So is there still a problem?

The only problem is that I can not change the temporary password to "my" password. I have a Norton system on my PC that clears cookies every week so I have to log on weekly. I'd prefer a password I know and use if that's possible without sacrificing my bio.

Why don't you copy and paste you bio into a docuent to back it up? Then, when you get your password problem fixed, you can copy your bio back into your profile. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Gary,

Hmmm... I didn't have any problems logging on with your username and password... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Just kidding, glad it's fixed.

I have a freeware cookie program that lets you choose for each cookie whether to keep it, always delete it, or temporarily accept it (good for shopping carts). Real easy to maintain, three columns and can move cookies around.

It doesn't block the cookies, it just scans your cookie directory every xx seconds (configurable). This helps with sites that "require" you to enable cookies on their front page, then don't use them except to track you.

I can make it available if anyone wants it...

Are you sure that will work and that the TBN will accept the bio that, by the new, lower limits is "too long"? I think I'd rather hear from Muhammad that your idea will work before I try it.

Try downloading winpatrol at www.winpatrol.com It is a free program that lets you keep what cookies you want and what startup programs you want along with many other options. Next to zone alarm and avg it is the best program i have and it is free.

Thanks for the link, but my problem is that I have seen so many different programs touted on the TBN through the years, that I don't know what is good and what is going to conflict with other programs. Just because it is free, isn't a good reason to download a program that you know nothing about. Is there any others out there that have experience with this program? Once again Bob, thanks for the link, just waiting for more information to be on the safe side. Junk...

I wasn't aware that we changed our bio limit... like others have said, try removing your bio, changing the password, and then changing the bio back.

Gary, I seem to remember something similar to this one time while editing my bio. I think it had something to do with the expanded [image] [/image] section of your bio. Try re-entering your bio as others have suggested, but using the shortened version of the smiley face you want in there.

Or probably just editing that section would work too.
