I have a 4320 that the warranty runs out the first of dec. The problem I have is there is a squelch right when the pto gets to 1/1 (engaged) if you will. I have tried all rpms from idle-1400 with the squelch only getting louder with increase of rpms. I have transported my tractor twice to my dealer (1.5 hrs one way) for repairs. The first time the tractor failed to make the noise:mur:. I took it back last fri with my 6' bushhog they sold me with tractor and there was my noise. They said it was ready yesterday after replacing the dampner (sp?) but when I got there and tried the pto there was my squelch again. The dealer told me to just take it home THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT but admitted hearing this squelch.
This noise sounds like it comes from under my foot when on tractor. I also hooked up my cutter to a new 4520 on lot and no noise.
Anyone ever dealt with this problem

I had a 4510 that had a chip or squeal under left foot at start up. I looked at the manual and it showed a bypass valve down by the hyd. filter set up. After it warmed up it went away and my pto never caused it like yours is but its somthing to check. good luck

does it make the noise if you have nothing hooked up but just the pto engaged?

is the noise a constant squeal?

No noise with nothing attached. The more pressure it takes to start the implement louder it is. It mostly does it with my frontier rc1072 bush hog but sometimes does it with 6' finish mower but that is rare.
It has never made the noise after engaged either.
Thanks for any and all advice

The noise sounds kinda like and about as loud as a squaling tire. It lasts for about a second

it may be the rock arm making the noise

do you lower the 3 point hitch when not using the tractor?

does it make the sound on starting the engine or engaging the pto?

I always lower fel and 3pt arms when not in use
It only makes noise when engaging pto.
The tractor performs perfect but I just don't want an expense after warranty expires.
What is a rock arm?

it is the short arms and hydraulics at the top of the lift links

mine squeals when the rock shaft droops

but only on startup

but if yours does it only when engaging the pto then it's a different problem

when does your warenty expire?

That is the internal PTO clutch slipping-sounds normal to me.
