A friend of mine has an old Kubota L245 (25 years old) tractor and lately it overheats after driving it a bit. There is coolant and he has cleaned the fridge system of the tractor a few months ago. I suspect the coolant pump. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks!

Over time the cooling fins go on the radiator so replacing that would be one solution. I take it he did the obvious stuff by blowing out all the hood vents, screens and radiator fins with compressed air?

imo the tractor should not overheat that quick if it's not under load so that sending unit 'could' be bad...just double check it with the proper thermometer to be sure.
