Kioti CK30
Hi Everyone, has anyone had problems with the synchronizers on a CK 30 manual? Here's the problem. On Sep 3rd I had been brush hogging under some powerlines and along some of my trails when I lost all reverse gears and the tractor would only move forward in 1st if I dropped the RPMs really low and held the shuttle in forward. I was able to get it out of the woods and the dealer picked it up on Sep 6th. They told me that one or more of the synchronizers were gone, under warranty!!, but they are still waiting for parts. I find it hard to believe that after 5 weeks the parts can't be shipped. Thanks for any help/suggestions on what the hold up might be.

I know that they stopped shipping for a week to complete inventory. That was two weeks ago!

If you can get the part #'s for us maybe we can see what exactly is going on.

Yikes, 5 weeks? I have ordered parts that ended up being backordered and a few weeks is all it took. Sounds like the shuttle hydraulics weren't gripping due to low pressure.

Synchronizing the gears for shifting doesn't seem to matter once you are in a gear like first. Seems like the synchros are not in the picture at that point. Sounds like slippage of a clutch but the pros should know.

Sounds like a bent shift fork. Which will take the synchros out in a hurry. So it would be both synchros and shift fork. Parts should not take that long. The rule at Kioti is supposed to be "if it will be more than week to be in stock it gets shipped "air" from South Korea" We were told that at the last dealers meeting. Please keep us updated.

That's great. I am pleased that Kioti acknowledges and is addressing parts availability "issues".

"addressing parts availability" and actually (sp?) doing somthing about it are two different things.

Still in the market for a tractor, but honestly, from what I've been reading in the Kioti forums, does make me wonder.

Update on my parts. I called the dealer Tuesday and he said the parts came in...HOWEVER...they say they have other things they are working on and are not sure when they will get to my tractor. It's been over 8 weeks now that it's been down. Needless to say I am not happy with Kioti OR the dealer. Based on the customer service I have received I wouldn't recomend Kioti even though I like the tractor.

They should have given you a loaner, I'd sure push for that.

You know, I think this kind of thing should be asked when you are making a deal on the machine from the get-go. Especially when you buy a machine that you use to make a living on. "What if?" What if the something breaks? Will you offer a loaner if the unit is still under warranty? If it's important then I think it should be had in writing. Of course I can see issues with this when it comes to long distance sales but I think it should be made clear up front. When I bought my tractor I knew that I would be moving soon and had the dealer include in writing that they would come and transport it for me one time no charge. While there are some really good dealers out there, there are some that could really care less as well. As people say...Caveat Emptor, or as some others say C.Y.A. By the way, I think eight weeks is ridiculous no matter what. If they have had your tractor for that long it should be at the top of the que. "Working on other things" Harumpff... /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Red, I think I saw on the Kioti web site that they offer a program for getting a loaner, but it looks like you have to do it when you buy the tractor and of course it costs more money. I had sent an email yesterday to Kioti and they called the dealer about it. They said that the dealer was working on it. I'm heading out to VA for a week of black powder deer hunting, maybe it'll be here when I get back but I won't hold my breath!!

Good luck, enjoy the hunt.

Extended warranty. It is available for purchase until your original runs out.
If it's after your original runs out there is a waiting period.
It's a 5 year warranty. 5 yrs total, from time of purchase.

I'm back from VA, a nice break, the dealer brought my tractor back last monday. 8 weeks and 6 days!! I was able to do some work with it over the weekend and it is running great. Hopefully this weather will hold up for another couple of weeks and I can get some of the things done before it snows. Thanks for the input and I'll check on that extended warranty with the dealer.

If your weather is anything like ours, you're in good shape. It's in the 70's here in N. Texas, but some bad stuff is headed this way, so work fast.
