I went to attach a MF model 74 4 wing bottom plow to my Mahindra 2565 and found out the balls in the lower arms are too wide, or the mounting pin on the plow is too short and does not allow me to install the spring clip. The mounting pin on the plow is a solid piece of steel that runs to the other mounting pin on the other side of the plow. So cannot change out the pin for a longer one. My tractor is a cat II and the plow is a cat I. That means I need to use bushings to take up the slack. Has anyone else run into this problem? If so, how did you fix it? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Cat 1 plow/Cat 2 tractor mismatch may or may not be fixable.

1) Tractor Cat 2 Top Link may not shorten enough to allow proper Cat 1 plow adjustment.

2a) Front and rear right side tires must fit into the first plow furrow, known as the 'dead furrow'.

2b)If your plows are 12" wide and your front and rear right side tires are > 12" the plow geometry may or may not be thrown off because the tires cannot drop into the bottom of the furrow. (Tractor weight may squash 13" tires into 12" soft soil furrow but that is about max tolerance.)

3) Front and rear tires must line up (follow one after the other) to plow If rear wheels have been adjusted wider than 'normal' front and rear tires will not fit in the plow furrow.

I hope this helps. Good luck.

If you can drop a cotter pin into the hole instead of a lynch pin that should still work, otherwise see if you can grind the shoulder off of the collar on the pins on the plow.
However hooking it up is one thing, I don't think a 2565 will handle a 4-12 bottom plow very well.

Thank you for the replies and information. I have turned land before using a JD 3 wing 16" plow. I had to borrow it, and can again if I have too. Just don't like to borrow other peoples stuff. The MF 4 wing is a 14" plow that belonged to my uncle who has deceased. So I was trying to use it instead of borrowing. My tractor is a 65 hp 4X4 and it is a very strong tractor. I feel like it can handle the MF plow. I know it didn't have a problem with the JD 16". We are only talking 8 more inches of loamy type soil. If I take Egons advise and make it where I can put a hairpin clip in the pin, I'm going to try it anyway. Push come to shove, if it is too much for the tractor i can always go borrow the JD one.

Thanks again!

A ground down grade 8 bolt may be another option. Maybe even tie the lift arms together with a tie-down strap just in case.

For a trial run, I would do what I need to do to do a trial.
There are 1/4” lynch pins available if they would fit. They are lighter duty, but may work for a trial basis.
Long term, I would do what it takes to make the pins a couple of inches longer. Personally your description is a bit confusing. If you get the plow to work for you and want suggestions for getting it to work long term, post some pictures of the plow’s hitch pins.
I would be very cautious of trusting a cotter pin to keep the pins connected to the tractor with the forces involved while turning. Lynch pins are hardened steel while cotter pins are mild steel.
