I have 6 A which is mostly flat but there is a 10' tall x 20' wide (appx) "property concealment" hill around 1/2 of the property. My buddy just bought 1 of 2 used 2013 ZD331's and I'm looking at the other used one in the morning. Has less than 200 hours and is for sale at a dealer for $9250 financed. Serviced ready to go. This price is hard to beat and with this being freshly serviced, small down and $225/mo and almost new I find it hard to pass up. Unless I can get other opinions talking me out of it, I'm going to test drive it and probably buy it. My small hill that surrounds most of my flat property I can mostly cut lengthwise so not too worried about the hill. What do you guys think? Should I pull the trigger? I bet I will only put 75-100 hours on per season. Thanks for any comments.

Got a similar deal last summer except mine is the ZD326 with 60" commercial deck. About 348 hours or so, one non-commercial owner. $9200 out the door.

You'll love it!

If you use it on hills, fill the rear tires. About 8 gallons each, about 65 lbs each, 130 lbs total. Seems a lot more stable to me.

Good luck.

Fill the rear tires with what? Water?
How do you put water into a tire ?
Thanks

Don't know about mowers but most tractors use either beet juice, calcium chloride, or a mixture of water and anti freeze. Use environmental friendly anti freeze so if it leaks out animals or the environment will not be hurt.

I use water and RV antifreeze. I used about one gallon per tire, but I live in SC TN. Where you live, you might want to use a bit more.

I used a tire quick fill adapter; I got mine at Gempler's but Tractor Supply has them as do others. Quick Fill Tractor Tire Attachment | GEMPLER'S

Youtube has numerous videos on how and why to fill a tractor tire. And here's some more info: 6 Reasons to Liquid Ballast your Kubota’s Tires | OrangeTractorTalks

Good luck.

Filling the tires with water/antifreeze may help the grip on hills, but it will also make it ride more rough. Most zero turns don't need anything that makes the ride any rougher.
