Earlier today I had 0 unread private messages but this afternoon it went up to 135. I looked at 3 old ones again - and the counter went down to 132. "Mark All Read" or Logging out and back in doesn't affect it.
Private message count just shot up

I've noticed that myself. About half of my PM's 'stay' unread in the tob tab listing.. even though I have read them. I just check them every day, and then try to go thru and delete a few uneeded's now and then.. etc.

I've never had such a problem, but maybe I should delete a few since mine shows zero unread, but 1234 in the incoming box and 1238 in the outgoing box.

Looks like mine shot up at least a couple of hundred in the last day or two.

Found the "EASY" button. On each page of private messages there's a box near the top beside the count of how many are on that page - I checked the box, they all became checked, and at the bottom there's a drop-down for "mark as read". The ticker is back to zero. Whew! that was a lot of work - think I'll go get a "mowing soda".
