Price Check Price on used JD 4200

I have found a 2000 JD 4200 with loader (HD bucket), ballast box, turf tires (w/ chains), 5' JD rotary mower. It has 316 hours. The person used it for brush removal and the such. They are asking $14500. Is this a good price? I have been looking at the new 4110s and saw this in a local paper.

Is it 4wd and/or hydro? Just for the tractor with 4wd the used price is from $11,900 to 13,200. Add the loader and the rotary mower, etc. and you aren't too far off at $14,500. If it's hydro and 4wd the base price w/o the loader and such is from $13,200 - $14,600.

Sorry for not including all the information. It is hydro and FWD. The 5' rotary mower is older than the tractor but I am not sure how much older (I forgot to ask).

We just sold a 4200 hydro w/ a 60 deck with similar hours and it brought $13900. Sounds like a great deal!!!

The 4000 series are very rare at the auctions up my way… I seen one 4100 last fall about ~$7500…

My personal opinion… I’d buy brand new, with a full two year warranty, 0 hours, latest factory upgrades and improvements… and with the special rebate currently going… the final price has to be within $1500. of your quoted “Used”, No Warranty, As-is, You buy it-You own it Price… /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I am leaning towards new because of the warranty for the difference in the used vs the new.

I couldn't find much in the used market, JD or otherwise. Anything I did find was a couple $thou less than new or really rough. Ended up finding a new 4200 gear for about $12K. Nice to know I have the 2 year warranty and the JD financing was pretty good. New 4X00's are getting hard to find though, especially if you don't want HST. I mostly mow 4 open acres so I didn't see the need for the HST, saved a couple of $$.
