I bought a 1655 in about 2000, I paid $2,200 for it. It had a new Onan20 HP motor on it. It also had a 54 inch deck, was in very good shape. Parts are scarce at best, I have to hunt around alot to find parts. But I love the thing, its a real tough garden tractor. Mine is a 1979 model, thats pretty old for a garden tractor, the hydro unit is getting weak and doesnt pull that well any more, but I will eventually fix it. Anyhow in my opinion, it is worth buying if you dont mind the parts hunt and some mechanic work. Happy Hunting! TB

Does that mean they are discontinuing the 1500 series?

My 1547 is just about to have it's first birthday party...

I was told by a dealer here, at the end of this year they are going to stop making anything over a 1540. So I guess thats where the 1600's will come in for over 40 hp compacts.
