Hi folks I'm new to tractor ownership so I wanted to make sure this all seems A-OK to you before I go any further.

Basically I purchased a Kubota B2301 new 6 months ago, and I want to add hydraulic top and side links (TnT) so I can use my box blade more effectively.

I already have a FEL and a 4-in-1 bucket with a 3rd function kit.

I asked a dealer here what I would need in order to operate a TnT kit and they sent me the following quote:

Note- I'm in Australia, so I've converted the Aussie dollar price to USD, since I know most of you are American. I expect to pay a similar price to what you do in the US anyway..so I still want to hear from you!

Base kit and lever $ 506.00 ($372 USD)
2 nd position stacking kit and lever $ 211.00 ($155 USD)
Double acting valve selection $ 370.00 ($272 USD)
Float Detent valve section S 469.00 ($345 USD)

Total cost $1,556.00 ($1146 USD)

They don't supply the actual top /side links so I was just going to get myself on the waiting list for one of the FitRite TnT kits:

FitRite TnT kit $1250 ($920 USD) + shipping

So grand total comes to $2804 ($2066 USD) + shipping

Does this seem something like what you would expect to pay?

And can anyone comment on the actual components the dealer has suggested? Do I want a "base and lever"? Are the valves the right ones for this task?

Thanks in advance

I paid $1828 for 2 float valves installed at the dealer. I would say your price is fair. Float is so both links can float like the front end loader can. Not required but recommended by most. It does have some downsides as the valves can leak down over time.

You should shop around for your own top link and side link. They are very much within the realm of a DIY project if you have simple mechanical skills. Cylinders, hoses, and fittings are available from a variety of sources -- farm/ag supply, eBay, etc. I paid about $250 for top and side link cylinders and another $80 for hoses and fittings.

Here in the USA, AI Products (A&I Products: Agricultural, Industrial & Turf Manufacturer & Distributor) has a bunch of generic top links and side links that will fit many Kubotas. There are other sources as well. For hoses and fittings, Discount Hydraulic Hose is great (Discount Hydraulic Hose | Your Online Hydraulic Shop). Hopefully you can use or find similar sources.

To make a long story short, to source the cylinders you need to know what types of ends are needed. Usually a top link will have two ball ends and a side link will have one ball end and one fork end. Then work out the length range each cylinder needs to have, using your mechanical links for guidance.

I bought a long top link hydraulic cylinder from Tractor Supply for about $200 plus the 1/2" hose kit. The hoses didn't fit my B2650 so I took them back. I measured the length I needed needed and took the cylinder/fittings to a local hydraulic shop and they made hoses while I waited. I think it was about $80. I got 3/8" hoses with banjo fitting for a very neat look. The smaller hoses slow the speed a little for a precise stop/go. I couldn't be happier. I wasn't able to find a side link kit that fit my linkage other than the guy here and I felt it was too much $$$ so I still adjust tilt manually. I couldn't be happier with the top link.

When I worked for the Kubota dealer in Arizona, we got T-N-T kits and cylinders from a company in California called Gearmore. You can go th their website and look up the kits. They can come with valve, valve mounting kit, and both top and RH tilt cylinders. Also have a LH cyl available for some applications. I have installed a number of these and have even modified the mounting kits to fit specific uses. quire a few options for mounting.

I think you're getting carried away. I can say that 'cause I've done the same thing.

I bought rear remotes for my B7610. Never used them. Was thinking a log splitter, but the 7610's hydraulics are too wimpy.

I bought TnT for a L4300 and took them off. Too much complication. Don't adjust the top or tilt that much anyway...sort of set and forget. Rear remotes on that tractor ALMOST make sense, but again hydraulic flow is weak. They will help if I ever run the bat-wing Brush Hog on that thing.

Same thing with a Quick Hitch, too much complication and moved the load back further making for balance problems.

Rear remotes did make sense on the MX5000. At 9.2 gpm, it seems to run a log splitter just fine. Hydraulic flow is your friend.

Operate your tractor for awhile, get used to it. Getting all the gadgets recommended here can cost you $$$ with little return. Decide what you really need and buy that.

The only gadget I've found useful is the telescoping 3PH arms that came on the MX5000...wish the L4300 had 'em.
