A friend bought a new L4310 last year with several extras - but his circumstances now require that he sell it.

What would be a fair asking price for L4310 GST with 225 hours, 4wd, R4's, FEL w/60" hd bucket, Curtis heated cab, Woods 9000 subframe backhoe, 6' rotary cutter, front forks, front and rear tire chains, Farmi winch, BH 8" auger, 6' 3pt snowblower. He'd rather sell as a package instead of breaking it up. He paid just under $40k - would like to get $30k. Location is near MA/VT/NH corner.

Any comments or opinions?

Hey Dick, Townline Equipment in Plainfield, NH lists a 1999 L4310 GST, 930 hours, Woods 9000 backhoe, loader, R-4s. They're asking $25,400. If you figure a cab adds $6000 ballpark you're already over $30K with more use but without the other goodies your friend is offering. Good luck.

I think the curtis cab with a heater is closer to $3000. Much more for the money than a Kubota cab which does go for around $6000

Yup. Thanks Hayden. I was figuring Kubota cab, not Curtis.

Hey John - I offered him a grand too - but he didn't go for it - muttered something about us engineers being cheapskates. /w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif

Last night he said he might keep the Farmi and snowblower - sell the rest for $28k or so.

That heated Curtis would be comfy - but I can't justify 2 rigs & could never part with the L5450.

How's the Eclair winter so far?

If he is a friend and you really did not need the machine, I would offer 80-85% of "New" pricing and let him use it if he needs it. If he is not, ~75% would be a fair offer depending on the condidtion. I have a 1999 L4310 4wd, HST, R4, folding rops that was $19k not including any extras. $1100 for Gannon Top-N-Tilt, ~4k for the L681 loader and HD bucket. Wood 9000 BH was $8400, Forks are $250 for 3000Lb model that hooks over the top of the bucket.

Not sure about the Cab, 6' cutter, chains, winch, or snow blower.

Hope this helps.

I'm not a candidate to buy this setup because already have all the same functions. He is indeed a friend - just isn't near a computer much so I told him I'd run it up the TBN flagpole and see if anyone showed any interest. I'd like to help him sell it to improve his cash situation. Sounds like 30k (about 75%) should be a decent deal for someone - its in very good shape, some pieces have been used only 5-10 hours.
