Would anyone who has recently purchased a backhoe (new or used) for a Kubota L3240 be willing to share what they paid for it? I'm interested in getting one if I can justify the price, but if it's clearly out of my price range, I'll just wait until I can afford one later. I'd also like to be able to compare recent purchase prices from customers with what the dealer says his price would be just to know how much difference there is, (knowing that regional prices will vary, of course.) I mean, I don't know if I'm looking at $5,000, 7,000, 9,000 or anything in between.

I did not buy it but I got a quote from a Kubota dealer on a Woods backhoe installed for $6800 for a B7800. He said they feel that the Woods is better built than the Kubota branded one. That included a PTO hydraulic pump.

I hope this is of some help. I bought a BH75 with sub frame from my dealer (NM) when I bought a L3400 in November 2006. I paid $5,548 for it with a 24 inch bucket.

It was $7600 including the sub-frame installed.

If there is any type of construction requiring long trenching, septic system, home construction, and etc. in your future; I wouldn't buy less than a 9' hoe. It will cost a little more, but the payback is in capability!
