Hello everyone, I have been a long time reader and now a first time poster. I wanted to first thank everyone here for making this board a valuable and useful tool. Well, today I spent three hours test driving different models and narrowed it down to these three. Man, time went by fast! Anyhow, my question is these prices reasonable or total way out of the ball park? These are quotes from a local dealer; all are four wheel drive, FEL w/ Skid Steer QA, and bucket, plus standard options for the Grands.

L-3240 HST-F $21,990.50
L-3940 HST $25,086.25
L-4240 HST $27,328.00

The sales man had a :) when describing the Grand series as the Cadillac.
He also mentioned that tractor prices are up recently? :confused:

Got a quote on an L5740 below. Cab adds extra cost and bigger engine, but at least can provide another basis for comparison. $32,500 in total, so it is $5,200 more for the cab and 15 extra HP.

L5740 HSTC (4wd, Cab) 57 hp 50 pto hp: $28,100
Front End Loader LA854, quick attach, heavy duty round back bucket, grill guard: $4,400

Thank you for everyones input. I am going to go ahead and purchase the L4240. I got the dealer down to $25,487.63 out the door. I believe this is the best that he can do. Besides, the sales staff was great and they need to make a living too. You wouldn't believe how little sleep I am getting thinking about putting hours on my soon to be tractor. :D

Hahh !!!

I would be suspicious of ANYONE touting Cadillac as a standard of quality (-:

{in joke for quality management folk}

True but you will see deep discounts and zero % interest rates if the price of #2 Diesel gets to $5.50 a gallon and stays. Deere is already introducing new unleaded engine options on traditional diesel models.

Long live the greedy investors who are inadvertently driving a false market for short term gains at the expense of the American worker who is forced to buy diesel for survival.
