I think that I have finally found a tractor at a price that I could afford without going Korean non-major brand. I first priced out an MF 1433 synchro shuttle with R4's and 1466 FEL and it came in at $20,000 plus 6% tax for $21,200 - kind of disappointing. I then drove about 10 miles to the Agco dealer who quoted the same tractor (Agco ST35 & Agco SL46 loader)at $18,400 with zero tax. Now, Pennsylvania exempts farmers from sales tax and I never concealed the fact that I was just a hobby farmer with 15 acres. The Agco dealer (I am not going to mention his name and get him in trouble) said "you look like a farmer to me". He also offered to upgrade me to the turbocharged 40 HP ST 40 for another $200.

Sounds pretty good. Any advice from the experts?

Last month my dealer priced this for me. 1433-v 8x8 4 wd. big r-4 tires, 1466 loader, 5' box blade, 5' rotary cutter, $17,072
Little different from you quote. The ST40 for just $200 more! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif You better get it before he figures out what he did.

The dealer said that the 40HP turbo models have been slow sellers and the warehouse is backed up with them. Everybody buys the 33HP. He can get a factory rebate or something on the 40HP.

He would have to be, they are usually much higher.

Hightwelve, This is interesting,I would be willing to bet that the massey dealer was quoting you list price on the 1433 & the agco guy gave you the out the door price??
Reason I say this is My dealer originally quoted me a list price of $20k + for my 1433v r4's sychro-shuttle ,loader etc.. But when he saw I wasn't just out kicking tires, The price came in at $15,800. Now I had been out on the eastern shore of MD. stopped at an AGCO dealer And was quoted a price of $18,900 for a stx30 and $20,800 for the stx 35 ,Both were quoted w/loaders and hydro's instead of shuttle trans.
My first thought was the dealer didn't consider me as a viable customer (knowing my geographic location)so he gave me list price due to feeling he wouldn't have much future business buying supplies or maintenance items??not sure.
That's my story ,So my question is ,Is this a stx40 or the st40 and my response is an st40, r4, loader,8x8 shuttle that is a good deal ,the stx is the value model like 1440v which is cheaper. I think $18,400 is high for a st35 personally since it is the same tractor as a 1433 and I got mine for less than $16k although mine is the Value model which I really don't know the difference's in the 1433 &1433v? but I'm sure its not 2k dollars worth.
Keep us posted on this please because I am really interested in what an Agco can be purchased for?
