Can you guys and girls take a look at this posting and let me know what you think?

kubota tractor 3240 HST back blade loader brush hog - eBay (item 190270740043 end time Dec-07-08 17:46:09 PST)

Even at the "buy it now" price of $18k this seems like a good deal. It's the tractor I want, with a bunch of implements, some nice and in good shape, some not so much. Only negative in my mind is that it doesn't have the 724 loader.

It's a haul from my place (Idaho), but I can't find any good deals within 1000 miles of me. I really don't want to buy a trailer and drive that far, but am considering it.

Hey Brian, just purchased a Grand L3240HST w/ the LA724 w/ SS QA and HD bucket, filled R4s, rear work light from Kubota of Cincinnati for $19,000.00 out the door. 0 down, 0 interest for 54 months. They could not have been nicer to deal with. But what your looking at still seams like a decent deal. That Woods FM alone is worth over 2k. Even a King Cutter roto-tiller is gonna set you back 1k. A JD bush hog aint cheap either. I'd keep an eye on it, see where the bidding goes, if it doesn't get close to his BIN price, send him a message with a lower offer, say 16k. You never know how motivated of a seller he might be. There are alot of people out there right now that are hurting financially. His lose is your gain.

I had a unit quoted locally the same as yours, but without the work light, the lower priced dealer came in at $21.5k. If I could buy new, locally, for the price you paid, with the zero % financing, I'd be a lot happier.

I'll keep an eye on the auction and see where it goes. There was another L3240HST with a Great Bend backhoe for $18.5k on ebay a week ago that didn't sell, I might follow up on that one as well. Everything I see for a decent price on there is 2000 miles or more from me! I really don't want to make that round trip, but just might have to.

Brian: If you are planning to finance, consider this:
$18,500, 8%, 54 months, payment = $409
$21,500, 0%, 54 months, payment = $398

The 0% financing really saves you a lot, for these numbers you can pay less and get a brand new tractor, full warranty, etc. Please note that I just picked the 8% number, not sure what you can get to finance a used tractor. Good luck, keep us posted.

No finance charges on new will always beat finance charges on used. .

You're exactly right, and it's what I have been considering. Zero % financing, avoiding a 4000 mile round trip and no concerns about how it was broken in really has me torn. I'll be spending time with my dealer this weekend, if I can get him to compromise by perhaps throwing in or deeply discounting the remote hydraulics I'll probably go new. Aside from that, I would really like to support a local dealer...it's just when my local guys want $3500 more than what many of you are paying that it gets hard to swallow.

You need to email Brady Barlow and get a quote from him. He killed the local dealers price on a l3940. He delivered mine 400 miles.

I bought my tractor from Brady Barlow, and saved a bunch over the local dealers. He had an L39 on the trailer going to another guy in Colorado, and an L3940 going to someone in California.

Check with Brady and see what kind of price he can give you.

I talked with Brady yesterday, prices look considerably better than what I see locally. We need to work out details and options. Thanks for the recommendations.

That e-bay auction is a heck of a deal for someone within reasonable driving distance, there are a lot of attachments.
