After using my front loader last winter to scrape snow off of my driveway with my BX2200 I noticed scrape marks left on the concrete. Has anyone come up with a solution for this??? Are there any aftermarket plastic edge guards, etc. that can be installed on the bucket to prevent damage to the concrete slab???....Thanks.

A six-inch strip of horse stall mat bolted to the edge is cheap, durable, and works wonderfully - like a squeegee.

PS Do a search on horse mat and you will find some pictures

rosey --

Were you using the "float" position on the control valve? I don't have enough experience to know, but that might help.

Bill...Thanks for the reply ....Yes even with the loader in the float position due to the unevenness of the bottom of the loader, scraping of the concrete will occur. Can't believe that there isn't some sort of an edge-guard made specifically for loaders......ROSEY

Good post! I was think of installing a 1" thk by 3" wide stick of teflon (white) on the front end loader blade but I think this is easier and more flexible to any radius of bums in the concrete.

I was originally for to do inconel on the blade but I would still be at the same problem, just help the loader out on wear.

Sorry, My three dogs are driving me NUTS today.

Good post! I was thinking of installing a 1" think by 3" wide stick of teflon (white) on the front end loader blade edge , but I think this topic is easier and more flexible to any bumps or inprofections in the concrete.

I was originally going to do inconel on the blade edge, but I would still be at the same problem, just help the loader out on wear.

Better? No dogs since the wife is cooking! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif THANK GOD!

There is material out there that is made for your purpose. I bought some for my backblade for the same reason. 7 foot x 3/4" thick x 6 inches wide cost me about $50. It's made for snow plow edges and or scraper blade edges. It's white plastic, could be teflon based, not sure. It was easy to replace the metal blade on my backblade, all I did was drill out the holes to match, backed it with some 1/8" x 3 inch flat metal stock for strength, and bolted it back in place of the metal scraper edge. To do the same for a loader edge you'd have to drill at least a few holes in the bottom edge of the bucket and back it with some flat stock. (The heavier the flat stock you use the less the number of holes you could get away with drilling. Course if you have a bolt on bucket edge this would be REALLY simple. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Rubber as well as plastic type material is available. They both have a disadvantage as they won't cut in well.

This place sells both rubber and polyurethane cutting edges for snow plows which you can mount to your bucket. plow edges
