I recently acquired a 38 inch precision lawn sweeper that is weathered but other wise in pretty good shape. The only problem is one of the wheels lock up instead of turning the brush. I found a manual online, it turns out there is a small part callea a pawl that is broken inside the wheel assembly. I called the company and was told they discontinued this model about a year and a half ago, so no parts available.

I thought parts had to be available for 10 years on products like this but apparently not. Does anyone have a scrap one they are willing to part with? I think I can make one a grinder, but if someone comes up with one it would be a better fit. Thanks.

Lawn sweepers are awesome. I've been using them for 20+ years. It's not uncommon for a wheel gear (generally plastic) to eventually crack or lose some teeth, which will cause one side to either lock up or stop driving the brushes.

I have made a few repairs along the way but sweepers are not that expensive. I think I'm on my 3rd unit after all these years.
