I went to Prague for two weeks. Took kids to see my family a to catch up with my friends and also get the food fix:) Here are some pictures of Prague, more to come:)

This set is about Hradcany, the Prague castle and surrounding area. The DCSN2939 is the garden of US Embassy in Prague - you can see the americann flag on that litle altan.

Great photos,

Prague has the look of being populated by people who care.

Thanks.

The mention of the food brought back fond memories, now where did I put my mom's cook book?

It's getting there:) After forty years of ruling by people who did not give a hoot (communist's government) and screwed the country and the whole nation.

Beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing!:)

This is one of my destinations to hit in my lifetime. My family roots are from Wilbur, Nebraska - the Czech Capitol of Nebraska, and go farther back to Morovia (sp?). If you're interested, the annual Czech Festival is held in Wilbur the first weekend in August. Good food, drink, and fun!

Pivo! Pivo!!

My favored part of the town called King's Vineyard. It was really vineyard for the czech kings but around 1900 they developed it into "suburbs". The housing was built for middle class. Of course what was suburbs back than is cosindered downtown today.

Water tower for Vinohrady. It is not used for water anymore but there are some neat apartments in it.

I had to borrow an older picture (with snow) to show a closer look.

The elementary and middle school. That little building was the first grade (built in 50ties I think) but it is a pub now:)
Anyway that big building is school 1st - 9th grade now (6 to 15 years old). Beautiful, isn't it?

I hope to go back to Europe some day, this next time I want to see what was on the 'other side' of the fence.

Prague looks like the classic European old city.

I am glad that you have the ability to travel back and forth.

Yes, I am very glad I can travel freely back and forth and communists are history.
I dont want to get political here but we have to thank USA for that too. The war in Korea, the war in Vietnam - it all showed those red bastards they will not be allowed to take over the world and finally Reagan's administration gave them the final blow and the evil emporium crambled down.

Thats plumb brandy.
OOoh! Slivovice is one of the very few 'non-cuss' words not allowed in our house. The story goes back many, many years, but it was the one -and only- time I ever saw my future bride hugging the porcelain pillow. That stuff kicked her b*tt! :D

Beautiful pics, thanks for sharing.
