found a real good deal on a powr reverser, had been leaning to e-hydro

75% of time mowing, 25% working

With my options I am looking at on used machines, I save around $2500 with the powr reverser (I know list diff is $1k but machines are diff).

Will i be $2500 happier with e hydro with my work load?

Thanks

With 75% mowing I would certainly lean toward the hydro. The power reverser does have synchro shifting so you can shift on the fly but still I would prefer a hydro if 75% of my work was mowing.

I guess for that $$ difference, I'd be willing to go with the power reverser. You can buy a couple of attachments for $2,500.00! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Have you ever owned and/or operated either type of transmission? I'd think that you probably have not, otherwise you wouldn't be asking.

IN MY OPINION, if it were me, I'd go with the power reverser because I've never had the HST, so I wouldn't "know what I was missing". /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Having said all of that, I also want you to understand that I don't have a tractor, so maybe I don't even have the right to make that suggestion. Still, it's my opinion. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Wait a minute! I do have the right to offer that suggestion. FunBuggy has a power reverser transmission. I can throw it into reverse without using the clutch!! Of course, all of my golf clubs end up going through the windshield - but I can do it!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I will never give up my hydro especially an e-hydro for another manual tranny no matter how fancy it is. Nuff Said. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I believe that this subject has been almost beaten to death here but I have to give my opinion anyway. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I bought my 4310 with power reverse a year ago January. I have a little over 350 hours on it now. I wanted the power reverse. I admit that I never even tried the hydro. I'm sure that I would have liked the hydro but price was a consideration and the reverser was over $1200.00 cheaper. I couldn't be happier with the tractor. It's very easy to operate and has been trouble free.

If I were you I would jump all over that deal. As stated here by others, $2500.00 will buy some pretty cool extras./forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

The majority of my seat time is mowing and that was the primary reason I went eHydro. I also checked used units before purchasing and the eHydro units bring more money and are easier to sell. Still, $2.5k is quite a spread. If indications are that you're going to have the tractor for many years then I would definetly spend the extra $$$ now.
