Anyone familiar / have power point?

I need to take a small handfull of .jpg files ( low res.. not big files ) and a .mp3 song and assemble them into a .pps file.. or power point file ( IE.. a slide show that has music playing during the show. One of the files inthe list would need to be displayed first, if that is possible.. ) to help the wife with a music project at her school. Thought I had office here.. but apparrently its a lite ver.. and only has pp viewer.. and not pp itself.

I'm still working on it.. but if I don't get it by next wednesday, would be looking for somebody I could email the few files to to plug it together into a pps file .. all small files.. any savy computer people out there that can help?

thanks

1. probably best to start out with a blank slide layout unless you want to do some text overlays.
2. next from the toolbar click "insert" "picture" "from file" and find your jpg(s) and double click to insert.
2. For the next slide click "insert" "new slide" and repeat #2 for the next jpg until you have them all.
3. you can duplicate as many as you need, or toolbar click "view" "slide sorter" to arrange them.

4. adding sound gets a little tricky. toolbar "slide show" "record narration" "browse" to locate your sound files
5. toolbar "slide show" "transition" to create timing & transition from one slide to the next.

I regularly use power point but have incorporated sound for a slide show only once and it was quite some time ago. As far as a straight up photo show I prefer a progam call "Nero". I hopes this helps.

I'm understanding from your post that you do not actually have the Powerpoint program, just a viewer. If so, go here
www: OpenOffice.org - The Free and Open Productivity Suite
and download open office. It's a free office suite that contains a Powerpoint equivalent and looks and works virtually identical. It will save the file in a Powerpoint format.

I do this all the time. I can create a PowerPoint file (ppt) or an executable. No need for the PowerPoint program or viewer to run it.
