I noticed these nifty gadgets a while ago.

Does anyone have experience
with these?

If you have any X10, phone extenders via powerlines these network cards will not work. They are usable. Not the fastest but do work.

Have not used these, but I would think any powerline noise from heat pumps, furnaces, washers, dryers, etc. Could interfere w/ the communication. I know if I'm running something like that it can sometimes interfere w/ my X10 stuff. Have you considered going to one of the wireless networking systems? They will do all of the same stuff and generally be faster.

Thanks for the replies.

I have a wireless router and card for my laptop. Works well through most of the house. The problem is that my desktop and printer/fax are upstairs. The router is located next to the cable modem in the basement. I get a marginal signal upstairs on the laptop. I'm trying to avoid running a cable from upstairs down to the router.
