I have a JD-4310 with a EPower Reverser shuttle shift transmission . Everytime I power wash it or just squirt it down with the water hose something gets wet and it refuses to go either forward or backward until it sits for about an hour a dries off. I have looked a every electrical connection I can find and have blown them dry one at a time to see which one is causing the problem. Have any of you guys ever had this problem and what can be done to correct it?

I would put dielectric grease in all the connectors, it's sometimes called "bulb grease" in the auto parts store.

I would go by and talk to one of the techs at the local JD shop (preferably where you bought your unit), and tell them what is happening and see if they make any suggestions. A phone call may work, if you can get to the right person.

If that fails, maybe some di-electric grease in the connections going to all the safety switches.

Got to or else I'll just be one rolling ball of Texas gumbo. Anyone who lives down here will know what I am talking about.

Theory of Operation
ePowrReverser Control Valve Operation
YZ4243
The ePowrReverser hydraulic system receives its supply
from the power steering return line. This oil then runs
through a filter. When the filter begins to clog up, the
pressure drop across the filter increases. The filter bypass
monitors this pressure drop. If the pressure drop is equal or
greater than 38 psi, the filter bypass opens and directs the
flow to lube circuit by passing the control valves.
The filtered oil then is regulated to a nominal pressure of
160-psi for the traction clutches and hydraulic system. The
flow that passes through the pressure regulator lubricates
the clutches. The lube circuit also has a relief valve. If the
lube pressure rises above 44 psi, the valve opens and
allows the pressure to be relieved.
The oil that is regulated to 160-psi supplies the Main PTO,
mid PTO, MFWD and traction clutches. Two proportional
valves, one for forward and one for reverse, control the
traction clutches. When the direction is selected, the
corresponding proportional valve opens and allows the oil
to go to the clutch and activate it. The pressure transducer
checks for the correct pressure.
