with a full load in the loader, i have noticed the power steering gets a bit jerky. (like there isnt enough juice to keep both going smoothly)

is this normal?

i have a b7610 with l352 loader.

thanks
John

Check your front tires pressure.
You'll want to up the pressure somewhat when you're using the loader.

My 1998 B2400 does the same thing once the hydraulic fluid is good and warm. I had the dealer check everything out and was told that the system met all the test parameters and though they didn't think it felt right, there was nothing they could do!! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif On a positive note, my Father-in-Law's brand new 4115 Deere appears to do the same thing so I've learned to live with it! Actually, if you only turn the wheel after you've started to move the tractor I find I don't have the problem.

I have only noticed some jerkiness in the steering if by chance I am moving along in the tractor, raising the bucket with a load in it, and trying to turn the steering at the same time. Not sure if this would happen if I was running the tractor at 2500 RPM or not. Since my tractor only has 13 hours on it I have been trying to keep the RMPs down to 1800 to 2000 RPMs. Maybe the hydraulic pump will keep up at higher engine speeds. Anyway.. This doesn't happen very often and it has not been a problem for me so far.

The jerkiness may be the tires "ratcheting" if you are in 4WD.
I also notice sometimes the steering has a pulse in it that I feel back through the steering wheel. It ocurrs when I turn the wheel quickly--spin it. I think there may be a momentary pressure drop followed by a spike in response. I assume it is normal. J

I have felt that (just recently) and was wondering about it. It happens if I am turning, moving, and raising the deck. When the deck gets to the top and kicks out the lever, there is bit of a hammering feeling in the wheel like the pressure just took off.

Probably normal, but I don't much remember it in the past. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I was told that the older models had 1 hydro pump and that the power steering wasn't good when you had a load in the FEL. I was also told that the newer models with the dual hydro pump didn't have that problem. My new 7610 is delivering tomorrow. I hope I don't have that problem /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

The 2410 has dual pumps I do believe. J

My B7500HST steering would get very jerky when running hard in hot weather, and the dealer was at a loss to explain why. It was definitely the result of the oil getting hot. One day I parked the tractor when it was acting up, and shot the hydro cooling coils with an infrared heat detector. Forget what the reading was now, but kept the engine running while spraying the coils with a garden hose. After the temp dropped 20 or 30 degrees F, I hopped back on the tractor and all was well.

When I changed the hydro oil and filters I went with Super UDT instead of UDT. I also made an attachment for my air gun to blow thw radiator coils clean. Since then it has been nice and smooth...........chim
