I just got my manual for my
B2910 out and looked up the troubleshooting guide for the steering section. They have 3 listings for noise and 9 listings for hard steering.
Noise
1. Insufficient Oil
2. Air sucking in pump from suction circuit
3. Pipe Deformed
Hard Steering
1. Transmission fluid improper or insufficient
2. Oil leak from pipe joint
3. Hydraulic pump malfunctioning
4. Improper relief valve adjustment
5. Relief valve malfunctioning
6. Valve housing and sleeve malfunctioning
7. Seals in steering gear box damaged
8. Backlash between sector gear shaft and rack too small
9. Air in the hydraulic pipes
I have 2 ideas you might try. Get the tractor on gravel or loose soil and with the engine running at idle, turn the steering wheel lock to lock with light to moderate pressure against the stops for about 2 seconds. Repeat several times. This will bleed any air out of the steering circuit if that's the problem.
If that doesn't work, call your dealer and explain the symptoms to them, and see if it might be related to a problem with the steering that was common about 2 years ago. I was told that they repaired some tractors that were out of warranty for momentary loss of power steering. It's worth a shot. I hope it's something simple, GOOD LUCK /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
