I have a Powermaster Backhoe, I am gathering parts for the restoration this winter and you all have been a big help on the electrical side, I have everything for that, Now I need to find a Power steering pump that will fit on it, I heard that one off a 1976 chevy something would work, but wanted to be sure first
thanks,

do you have all the rest of the ps system sans the pump.. or are you pieceing it together? if piecing.. I suggest getting a complete setup from a donor tractor.

The tractor has power steering on it, but it has a toyota pump that barley works, But the steering colum and all the lines and rams are there from the factory, I just need a new pump and resovoir to mount on the right side of the engine, Some goon put it on the left side of the engine hence removing the alternator, thats why I am going to redo the whole thing

Im making all my PS Pump and Alt brackets, I just need a pump to fit first, And I do have the threaded ear on the radiator Hose Bracket,

Or Better yet Would it be possible to tie it into my Hydraulics on the Front Pump?
Thanks

Very possible to tie in to loader. You would need to fix a priority flow control valve to give the correct volume first then a step down in pressure to about 1000-1300 (at a guess) psi. I also am guesstimating the volume at about 3-4 gpm. Like everything fabbed up, it's smart to start on the low side of both pressure and volume then sneak up on it to get the lowest acceptable flow and pressure.

yep.. buddy of mine has done that using the front pump.

I'd look at jackson power steering, they make power steering conversions for many tractors including fords.. they have kits to work with a priority valve ( as mentioned ) vs using another ps pump.
