Hi:
I'm looking to level (as flat as possible) some rough ground and plant grass.
I have a Box Blade, A grader, and a landscape rake. I was going to get a tiller for 'softening' up the soil and making a nice surface for planting grass. I've heard that tilling in a cross (First left to right, then forward and backward) does a nice job of leveling and will leave the ground fresh for planting grass. The Box blade doesn't leave too smooth of a finish since it doesn't break up the smaller clumps of grass and debris. I'd like to get nice smooth dirt with the top inch or two soft and ready for seed.
My question is would a power rake, or a combined power rake seeder (Like the Woods JTR series (JTR48S-2, JTR60S-2, JTR72S-2) work better.
Some of the ground I'm doing this to already has rough grass.
I welcome all opinions. I know I'll get a bunch.
