Well, I looked at my power pole this morning and it looks like the transformer sits about 24' off the ground and the pole extends up another 6' above that. About 1' down from the top is a insulator mast for one of the wires coming to the transformer. The other wire is about 5' below at the transformer level. I'm not sure how much of this pole is in the ground, but I'd guess there is at least 30' out of the ground.
The main power line poles along my road look to be about 5' taller than my power pole. I thought they would be at least 10' taller, but they just look taller since they don't have a transformer, I think. They may also be buried deeper into the ground, but I think you are wondering about the height above the ground. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
