Hi all!
I found a need for a 3 point post hole digger, so I went and got me one. BUT, after assembling the parts, I attempted to pick it up and dern near busted a gut! Uh Oh. Thing is about 250 pounds! Doh! No wonder it came in 2 boxes (and the auger was separate).
Then when I went to put it on the tractor, I found out that they are no fun at all to attach! Heavy, awkward and hard to line up. So, I decided right then to make a stand that I can use to hold it up for easy attach/detach, storage and transport around the shop.
The stand is made of 1" square tube with a bit of 1 1/2 " angle to support the gear box and couple of small 1/2" square tube pegs to hold up the arms. Right now, it is using a bungie cord to keep the gear box from sliding forward. I may use more stout support in the future...
If you are interested, the first photo is attached.
