Post Hole Digger Comparision

I would worry more on the type/quality of the auger bits than to be worried about the implement itself.
Yes, I second this. I have one from Central Tractor, and the name has worn off in the 30 years I've had it -- I don't know if it's County Line or what, but it looks like what TSC sells today.

It has drilled at least 200 holes in my awful soil made of bank gravel plus clay. My 9" auger bit is so worn it's not a drill any more and I had to replace it (though for some reason I still have it, as if I can use it for some undiscovered purpose). I also use a 6" bit, which does better in my soil simply because it's easier to get it to penetrate. But the auger drive itself still feels like it did new.

Granted, the drive costs more than the bits, so they can be more disposable. Still, I'm happy to have the cheap one, and would happily buy from TSC.

Central Tractor is the place I bought my PHD from some 25 years ago, but I thought it was a one-off farm store. Out of business years ago, but that was a great implement.

Central Tractor was a chain pretty much like Tractor Supply, and they merged to become the present Tractor Supply in 1999.
