I have modernized an ancient Danuser digger. Have an old danuser 9" auger 40" hole size. Appears standard model with hole digger point. It is quite rusted.

What can I do to to make the auger usable. I've never seen a new one. Sharpen?, de rust? Is the tip welded or screwed in?

Appreciate any info.

Thanks

Ernie

In my opinion, just use it. After several holes much of the rust will be removed. If the auger flights are dull you could try sharpening them but I would just try using it first. Other than appearance, the rust won't matter.
