Me too. I think most all of my Craftsman is US made including my dad's 10in radial arm saw from the early 60s! I can't seem to part with it even though it is just taking up valuable space in my cramped garage/shop!

I felt the same way about my 10 inch radial arm saw but did reluctantly scrap it earlier this year. Not many people use them anymore. Sears lowered quality on tools, now you can get hand tools just as good for less money at the big box home improvement stores.

Got a belated Xmas gift today after my wife forgot to give it to me, ruined the surprise and told me about today on the way to town. She presented it to me at dinner. I assembled it and it is ready to pull the front axle linkage bolts so I can replace the boots on my BX. Craftsman Gear puller made in USA... yahoo!

The jaws are sharp! Gear teeth a little gritty. Decent quality components, a bit overpriced but oh well. I heard there were much cheaper versions at HF but when I saw made in USA on the label I didn't hesitate and ripped into it.

Awesome, I think the craftsman ones used to be armstrong, looks like still may be. Some of the others with the "cage" were u.s. made, but right now I can't think of the brand.

Not sure if this has been posted........ I came across this tonight.....

GenTent canopy cover to run portable generator or inverter generator safely in rain and severe wet weather

I've used a full sized pop-up canopy with my generator - this is a much smaller footprint, easier to move, and a better solution for constrained spaces like food trucks.

I haven't verified the local manufacturing claim.

Rgds, D.

Might work for some but where I live, it often rains sideways, especially when the power would be expected to go out. Plus, the wind we had yesterday, also when the power might go out, was 40 MPH. I'm still with my calf hutch as the best option.

Plan B for a portable trailer unit is something I would build that has a roof but limited sides and the roof can swing one way or the other to catch some of the sideways driving rain. Still thinking that one out.

An equal plan B is a small trailer with a truck cap on it. Damaged truck caps are near zero in price and a guy could easily cut one in half and fashion a rain cover. All it has to do is block the rain for a while.

Here is my old Vaughan framing hammer. According to their website still made in USA from US-made steel and American hickory.

Scary it has been almost six months since a post here. Not a good sign. Hey Mopar, do you have personal experience with these? Never seen them before.

I've had the titanium one shown in that link for 2 months. I took a leap of faith in buying it after I found out about this company. It feels pretty good in the hand, swings nice. It pounds nails good. ... guess like any other framing hammer..?. lol. Quality and machining is top notch. I bought it to replace my Dalluge 21 oz, that walked away on a big job site...I still liked how my Dalluge felt in the hand a tiny bit better, but I haven't really had a whole lot of hammering to do since I bought it, funny how that works..verdict is still out, but so far, I'm happy. I'll put it to good use when I build my pole barn soon, and when we stick frame my fathers shed. :)
