Mike: OHIO seems to grow PI much better than it does anything else! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif lol Mine is growing nicely and soon I'll be a harvesting it again. I usually cut chop pull & burn, usually when the wind is blowing twards the neibor who I dislike /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif lol /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif naw just kidding I like all of them so far. I'm lucky when it comes to PI but SUMAC is something else. it gets me good, and Poak is only a minor anoyance. not much of it this far north though. SPENCER LAKE state park has a good bunch going, which we got into as kids when camping getting sticks at night. and made camp site right in a big ole patch in the dark /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif talk about using the wrong leaves to go with /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif lol...
the stuff many recogm4end i9s ZANFEL or soemthign like that costs 35~40 bucks for a small tube. it is a gritty stuff which feels pretty good when scrubbing the spots with it /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif for me some good ole spoild milk works like a charm dab a bit on and let it dry 3~4 times and it's gone in a day... hole milk works better for some reason but others say it's a wies tail I only know it seems to work for ME. anyhow last summer the woman must have gotten some form the mower ( I had it up in the edges trimming back the groth.) she had it EVERYWHERE from her wrists to her stomach and beyond /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif had to get some stuff from doc, she can't get cortazone as she has some health problems...
anyhow getting rid of it some good ortho brush begone, & or Roundup spraied on AFTER a hard rain and after it is dried soem. I mix some good dish soap with the spray mix so it cuts the plants oil some and gets the chemical into the plant better, remember it is the oils that are the bad part of the plant and those same oils protect it from much of the chemical if the oil is left there run off the chemial. I got some ortho total vegitation killer this weekend and am trying it it is susposed to soak into the ground & kill for up to a year... also a good coating of the dish or any imulsifier soap first to cut the oils then the chemical will help it work on the stuff...
I leave it set and then re-apply in a day or so several times if needed. this new stuff I have no clue how well it will work for it but I sprayed today /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
also wash up with good soap & COLD water for several min as soon as possable wash the clothing in hot water & same soap that is designed for OIL REMOVAL. I have a small bottle of DAWN in the shower at the farm for washing myself up after being in it I attribute that steap of stripping all the clothing off & washing everythign on ME in COLD and the cloths in HOT several times as a good precaution to keep the stuff at bay.
