Shorting something out while crawling through attics was never a thought. Making it out alive, without dying of heat stroke, falling through the drywall, probably over a stairwell, and whether I was ever going to stop itching after I got out, were things that typically went through my mind.

Driving around with the tailgate down on your pickup truck will increase your fuel mileage. I admit to trying it but was not impressed. There have been a number of engineering reports nay saying it. Lastly, I know of at least one incident where a dropped tailgate became a flying projectile via an accident and killed a hapless driver who otherwise would not have been involved.

Well guys, we have a counter top with a burn mark from a toaster cord. It was an inexpensive toaster and not being used at the time. Yup, it really happened! I was of the school of thought that how can it possibly do that with what appeared to be a good cord and not in use. I will forever more unplug the toaster.

This could be one benefit of our granite counter top, no wonder my wife unplugs the toaster.

My wife does this, but is fine with the coffee pot and microwave being plugged in all the time.
I don't get it.
