That is rediculous. I think I'd rather spend a bit more on a rider than buying two walk behinds.

Re: Poor Man\'s 40\" lawn mower

This got me thinking- maybe I could take two 48" RIDING mowers and attach them together. Yes, like a motorcycle and sidecar. I could do 96" per pass. No wait, 3 for 144" per pass. Let's see, I have 15 acres to mow, so how many riding mowers would I have to couple together so I could complete the task in just 2 passes?

Hey Dave,

They say US engineered and I believe it. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Fred Flintstone and Barny Ruble would surely have appreciated this absolute superb engineering design. But in today's standards, this is little more than Duck Tape inventions.

But on the other hand, if you had 3 mowers tied together in a V formation, with them staggered in front and behind, without leaving an unmowed space between the mowers, then you might have a somewhat better "Form Follows Function" idea. Heck for that matter 3 self propelled mowers might be strong enough to pull the operator on a wheeled seat.

And for the "Deluxe Model", you could mount one of those 30" high speed fans, behind the operators seat, for power assisted forward motion. That would surely make the Funny Papers. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

His write up sounds real upbeat and positive, but the more I look at it, the more I wonder just how much free time this guy has to dream up such a contraption. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
