Pond building

Here's how my neighbor builds ponds.

He owns a good sized construction company so I won't try to compete.

I came home for lunch to pick up my son. No sign of any work being done. Went back to work at 1:30. He is what I saw in my neighbor's back yard at 5:00 PM:

Your neighbor looks to be a kindred spirit with the guy who dug our pond last Spring. I'dve had a hard time doing it with the 33D.

Also, how long did it take. It it a dam? How deep.

I didn't see your post for a couple of days. Work started on May 1 2000, and took 20 days. It just filled up in early July 2001. The pond is about 12' deep in the middle, and it does have a dam. The dam keyway was dug down about 20' and then brought back up with on-site clay compressed with a sheepsfoot. It has about 3 acres of runoff and is about .65 acres in size.
