I have about 2 acres that I'm going to seed to make a lawn. My soil's makeup is clay. I'm considering tilling in some polyacrylimide or PAM. Does anyone know what this will do in the soil?

Did all the search I could and couldn't find anything that comes up with how this stuff treats the soil. Anyone know anything?

Thanks for your help. PAM absorbs water. In soil, after either being injected or tilled in dry, helps retain water in the soil. It has been effective in fast draining soils to decrease time between waterings. My clay soil doesn't have a problem holding water, it just gets concrete hard by summer's end and I'd like to change that. I was told that PAM will absorb the water then release it slowly and that would help the soil move and breathe. Just trying to find out if anyone else has heard or experienced the stuff. The erosion control isn't quite the thing that I'm looking for but I sure appreciate your time and effort.

I've always heard that gypsum is the best solution to solve the problem you have. It conditions soil and helps leach out salts.

Try this Gypsum
