I hope that this is not in any violation of posting rules, and as Sandman said "I know I am preaching to the choir" but I would strongly urge any of you who are not already members of the NRA to join as soon as possible. It is a small price to pay to help protect our 2nd Amendment rights.
Here here! With 5 pages of posts, there isn't much I can say that will be "new", but I can re-iterate what some have said.
-If not an NRA member, please join. I don't get kickbacks, but you and I will both benefit from the NRA's lobbyist in legislature and it's watchdog functions. The money for your membership does so much good for your 2nd amendment RIGHT to bear arms! I knew of HR 1022 within minutes of it hitting the floor as a bill, just prior to it going to the judiciary committee. I emailed every firearm owner/operator I knew regarding.
-HR 1022 won't pass...at least not this round. Nobody co-sponsored HR 1022 with Carolyn McCarthy of NY...in other words, it's too early in the Demoncratical scheme/agenda to wage such a brutal attack on firearms. Like someone said before, this bill makes the billy-bob clinton (note no capitalization) assault weapon ban of '94 look like an elementary school water pistol fight.
-If you don't have a concealed weapons permit for your state...APPLY. I have a gut feeling that the liberals will attack these next. Basically, I feel that if you don't have one after they make a law against them, you won't ever get one. It's better to be "grandfathered" in that to not ever be able to obtain this priviledge of self preservation. There are many sites on the web that can help in your research for your particular state. One of my personal fav's is:
legallyarmed.org | Concealed Weapons Information & News
-If you don't own an AR-15 or other semi-automatic weapon in the "proposed to be banned category" and you have always wanted one...buy it NOW. Also, buy several magazines in the 10+ category. This is just a precaution in case by some slim chance HR 1022 makes it to vote. Of course, Bush jr. will veto it, but in a couple years we'll have either billary or Obama bin barrackin in the oval office (god forbid), but it could happen. Here's my point: As soon as gun shops feel they can raise prices to go with the "scare" of this bill...they will. An AR-15 that will now cost between 700.00 and $1500.00, could go to double that amount. Be forewarned. The same goes for magazines and ammo.
-You can order ammo online right now, all you want...cases and cases with no questions...just think of what would happen if the liberals get their way to illegalize internet ammo buying!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm on my soapbox again, I'll drink a nice tall glass of shut the **** up now. Thanks for listening.
DieselPower,
I have CCW permits for Florida and Alabama. Does this help any for getting an ATF license "tax stamp" to buy and possess automatic weapons? I would definitely like to know more regarding. Thanks.
