1954 WD45 eventually a compact diesel when I find 1 they're not so proud of.
We're going to put up a 24x24 pole barn to use as a carport. After looking at a few different ones, I've got a question. Some sell with all pressure treated wood, while others are pressure treated on the 6x6 and the 2x6's are not. They won't give the 30 yr written warranty on the roofing, if ya use the PT lumber. We have lots of bore bees around and I'm afraid the lumber would look like swiss cheese in 10 yrs. Any thoughts on the PT vs regular? Also, any ideas for varnishing the std lumber or treating it in some fashion to discourage the bees. Thanks: Glenn

Glenn,

If you get an answer with a reasonable way to discourage the bees, I'd love to hear it. I've even had the varmints bore into PT material. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I know what ya mean. My father in law built a deck with railings out of PT. They waited 8 yrs to start chomp'n down, but are getting busy now!

Those bees are the only thing that are eating the treated wood on my porch. They seem to prefer the rafters and diagonal braces. If the arsenic don't bother 'em I guess you'll just have to fill each hole with plastic wood.
