Pole Barn Design-Over Building?

KennyD- I understand your PM! Now, I'm more than a little frustrated w/ my proposed supplier for the trusses! Gui's Lumber is a local distributor of them. Gui's is sort of a 'Small Box Store'! 3-4 locations. The Trusses are made by Universal Forest Products. I visited Gui's branch in Springville NY, (10 miles from build site) and the guy really didn't know too much about them. He suggested that I call UFP (15 miles from build) directly. I did! They've certainly got what I need, but said they only 'wholesale'. And to talk to Gui's about price! I go to Gui's other branch up here in Buffalo were I live. And said "I'm confused, I need a price on trusses, and went to your Springville location, and they said call UFP. UFP sez "We don't sell directly!" And told me to call you!" "Is this screwed up?" "No!" he said, "You have to deal through us!" ,with an attitude! Well it's been a week and no quote! Doggone! I thought folks were looking for business! My son works for a home improvement contractor, so I think I'll asks him to call for a price, and deal directly with the mfgr. Frustrating!! ~Scotty

Thanks, Bit! I'll check them out! Didn't know about them. Least it gives me an option! This isn't brain surgery! 30' spans, 4/12 pitch, simple, common, "W", Fink trusses, that I want to place at 3' centers, w/ purlins, and steel roof sheeting!!! I'll give them a call! ~S
