Pole Barn Build, 40x50x12

Thanks guys. It seems like it has taken forever but I can honestly say that with the exception of concrete finishing (we were laborers) that my dad and me built the whole thing. Learned a ton throughout this process to help me down the road.

Figured I would post an update as it has been a while. We have been clearing a 40' wide path around 1400' long for the electric to run up into the property. We went the last 200' or so underground. So that has kept us very occupied doing our normal weekend work in the cold. But, it all paid off, the meter was set today and we now have electricity to the garage! Feels like a major milestone for us. So the garage is pretty well done for now. We are turning our attention toward the house.

When I finished the electricity into my building it also felt like a major accomplishment, even though I only started with one receptacle. Enjoy the shop and good luck with the house.

Yes, I know. Very old thread to reply to but I wanted to post an update. We got our house built and moved in November of 2016. Still have a good number of things to do there (finishing items) but they are getting knocked out slowly. Also, just got a lift installed in the garage! Went with a Bendpak XPR-10AS! Attached is a picture of my first test. Thanks again to those of you that helped out during the garage build.

You will LOVE that lift!
My two teenage boys wanted to disown me after I sold my house with the lift.
Never did buy another one, but have missed it MANY times!

I have that same lift waiting for the shop to get built, they are a good lift for the price. I ended up buying mine used so I got to try it before removing it.
Does yours have the screw pads?

Cool that you found it used. I would have loved to save some $$. Mine does have the screw in pads. Can't wait to really start using it.

Nice job on the house, love the porch (except when stain time rolls around!!!). What did you pay for the lift if you don't mind me asking? I know there are some variables as far as electric needs and site prep like floor, ceiling clearance, etc.

It was right at 3k which seems to be the same price for it everywhere new. We built the garage with the intention of a lift where it is so it worked out well.
