Mike -- Absolutely! In fact, that's my preferred method of plowing when I use the tractor. Early or late in the season when the ground isn't frozen I reverse the blade and scrape with the convex edge to avoid digging in. Later, like right now at 10F with lows in the minus 20s, the ground is frozen solid and I use the concave edge. I've never had a problem with compaction.

If your rear blade is attached to a 3PH, you can adjust it out to the side somewhat..... you're just not thinking outside the box /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

After reading this thread I thought I would try plowing my gravel driveway that has an incline with my rear blade angled to the side and going forward. It worked quite well and was able to do most of the drive with one pass up and one pass down. I did dig up some dirt on the edge of the drive but not enough to bother. I usually use the rear blade facing front and back the tractor up, pushing the snow into many piles. The angled blade going forward pushed most of the snow to the side. I was working with about 8 inches of moist snow.
My walk behind snow blower does a much neater job and gets the snow further away from the driveway and the snow has less tendency to drift back into the driveway on windy days.

When the snow gets really deep or really wet, with an incline, you'll be amazed at how much more you'll be able to do in the down-hill direction, with the blade angled. than when going up-hill. Either way however, works pretty good IMHO. I still plow the first time or so going forward, with the blade angled, but facing back, just so I don't dig in too bad.
