As I begin to plan planting 7+ acres of grapevines, what would be the best plow and post-hole digger attachments to buy or rent? And what are average rental plow costs? And a question that may be more appropriate in the "breeding rocks" discussion: how often can I expect to be stopped in my tracks by buried rocks, in a field that appears to have none growing in it?

There are a number of things to consider, Size of tractor that you will be using. Where you will be digging and if you will find rocks. I'm really partial to post drivers not diggers.

Your profile doesn't say which tractor you have. A tiller leaves the best "bed" for planting, but they are also expensive to buy. And I prefer "plowing" first to get deeper and break up the ground before tilling. There are a number of different plows that can do the job, but my first choice is a moldboard (turning plow) in a 12" size for small tractors (hard to find that size sometimes) or a 14" or 16" for slightly larger tractors. And while I don't know a whole lot about vineyards, I, too, would think a post driver would be better and faster than an auger.

Art what kind of post drivers give you the most bang for the buck so to speak? Thanks
