I have heard of using diesel fuel with various herbicides. What I was told was that it provides a 'sticker' or oil to hold the herbicide on the plant longer. Probably get the same results with agricultural oil but I believe diesel was used as it was cheaper. The person was telling me that it was cheaper to use the round-up-like products and a little diesel to get the same affect at a lower price.
