Agri type tread and lots of weight. The weight can be wheel weights or fluid in the tires or both.

i got a couple wheel horses with AG tires. one has 23x10.50x12. the other has 23x8.50x12. put a hundred pounds of weight on the wheels and it plows dirt and snow real well.

I added wheel weights and filled the tires on my Wheelhorse (turf tires) for mowing on my steep hills. Works well Just make sure you check the tightness of your rear hubs when you add weight.

Here is a link to some good tires.

thanks fro the info
how wide, should i get 4 inch to dig in and grip or like 12 inch to float ect?
(i have 10 inch turfs at the moment)
thanksyou

Get the 10", that way you won't have to change rims.

Make sure to compare the specs of the outside diameter Of the new tire vs your old tires. Sometimes the ag tires can be bigger around even if they are labeled the same size as turfs. (they may rub) as far as width that's up to you but on a tractor that small It will not mater as much as you might think.

If you replace the wheels and tires as a set make sure the backspacing on the wheel is the same or less than the original. So they don't rub on the inside, sticking out might be O/K depending on your fenders.

if they rub the fenders the fenders come off! just a few bolts, make a new braket for the seat and hey presto!
im gunna get new rims anyway, so i can keep the turfs
so really it dont matter about the width much, and if theyre taller i just go faster!
thanks for you help, much appreciated

Just remember, the taller the tire the less pulling power you have.

I have a 1966 Bolens with turf tires and chains for pushing dirt etc. with the front blade.
For added traction I have a tray 18x18 inches for the back end that I can put 2 12'' cement filled concrete blocks on to increase weight. I found just one of the blocks is all I need.

I plan on using a 1967 Bolens with a blade on the front and a tiller on the rear.
It to has turfs.
The tiller should replace the tray and the cement block for the additional weight.
I will see how the traction is without tire chains on this tractor.
