Just what works for me - I usually have a box blade on the back for ballast, and there's plenty of places to wrap one of my long (20ft) chains around its frame, so one always lives there (and is all rusty). The others stay real pretty in the garage in the "tractor stuff" area in a couple of these - Canvas Riggers Bag As suggested in a post somewhere on TBN.

They are often on sale really cheap and are SUPER tough! When I need to use one, the handles are great for hanging on whatever protrusion is convenient or if just placed on the floorboards, the bag keeps them confined and in a neat, small area.

  1. your rear lights just above the fender might be in the way. but would state, make a L shape bracket/s that go over the fender and mount a box above the fender.
    1. WARNING do not try and mount a box directly to the fender, most fenders are cheap plastic stuff and will break / warp / and just plain break apart. you need a bracket.
  2. some folks have found a box that fits the length of there ROPS, to toss stuff in. others mount a flat metal brace across the rops then fasten a box to the metal brace.
  3. some folks have taken say a 4" pvc or metal pipe, with an end cap on the bottom side. and used some larger hose clamps or like to fasten to ROPS.
  4. some folks have done the pipe above, and fastened it to the frame work of the FEL (near steering wheel on tractor)
  5. some folks have mounted a bar across the ROPS. and then placed hooks (long bolts) off the bar. to hang chain from.
  6. some folks have mounted a box just under the step (on each side) for getting up into tractor. instead of box i should say more of a "drawer" that pulls out.
  7. some folks have mounted larger bolts / hooks on the frame work for the FEL (near steering wheel) hanging off to the side to hang 5 gallon bucket from, and same doing for a large bolt / hook on the ROPS to hang a 5 gallon bucket from.
  8. some folks have taken a 2" to 4" pipe and just strapped to the side of the FEL ARMS. end cap one side, and then a more easier to take off end cap on other side.
  9. on one occasion were person did not have a "quick attach" for FEL bucket, someone mounted a couple pipes between the FEL arms directly to the back side of the bucket.
  10. have seen a few "grill guards" out in front with a spot to store chains.

===========
some folks have mounted "fishing pool" and/or "long handed tools like shovel rakes" on to there ROPS, by using some of the *meh forget name* they kinda like like UUUUUUU (bunch of U's together) were a U is, is were some foam is, and tools fit into the foam. most folks tend to put a hinge door across the U's to keep stuff from falling off/out.

============
tool boxes.... xfaxman pictures = AMMO BOX. it is the physical lock portion that closes the lid, that you will want for any tool box mounted to tractor. any cheap tool box with a general lock or hooks or what not will fall apart and open up. reason? tractor has no suspension and tool boxes just vibrate and bounce apart. AMMO boxes tend to stay closed. as long as you close them correctly.

============
i have done it a couple times. short (as in height of bag), and 1 to 2 feet long, 8 or so inches wide. with a zipper. tossed the bag near and around my feet. it is rather dangerous. couple times bag slipped near foot pedals (brake and/or gas/hst peddle) and/or bag wanted to slip and fall off tractor.

============
be careful when mounting anything to ROPS. can void any sort of warrenty / roll over accidents involving ROPS. head, hand, body get nailed and/or trapped.

I don't know who it was, but on a similar thread, he simply wrapped the chain around his front 'grill guard'. Its always right there, out of the way, but easily accessible. I think that I might get a carabiner or something easy to remove, which would guarantee the chain didn't unravel.

I have yet to do it... I still keep mine in the corner of my cab, on the floor... I have plans... I have intent.........................

The 4" pvc pipe has worked well for me. Mine is set vertical next to the loader mount.

I fabbed up this chain toolbox for my Kubota B2650 out of 1/8 steel, welded it all together, welded mounting studs on it to mount the box to the existing holes in the loader frame. I made the lid pivot in the front so no hinges to give it a nice clean look. Worked out really well.

I carry/store four chains on my tractor and use them very often. Here are my PVC pipe setups. But I do not see an easy way to transfer installation to your tractor:

I mounted a grab hook on the ROPS. 20 foot chain hangs nice there.

I always carry chains. For my use it's the most needed tool.

Built this one which is fastened to the FEL mounting bracket. Second pic is what's in it.

Here's a slight variation from a previous tractor.

I want the chain box as near the operator station access point as possible. Step down onto the ground and grab a chain without having to walk around the tractor.
